The Ellis UnConference invites proposals for the sessions that will make up its program.

The day is organized around parallel 2-hour sessions, running in the morning and in the afternoon. Each session is designed and led by its proposers, who are free to choose the format that best fits their topic: a tutorial, a hands-on workshop, a set of talks, a panel, a discussion forum, or any combination of these. Poster sessions are welcome and will happen at the end of the day, please let us know if you plan on organizing one. We want the program to reflect the interests and creativity of the community rather than a single imposed template.

What we are looking for

We welcome sessions on any topic relevant to machine learning and its applications. Because sessions run in parallel, each should be self-contained and appealing to a well-defined audience. Proposals are evaluated on:

• Relevance and clarity of scope. A focused, clearly defined topic is more compelling than a broad label. Tell us who the session is for and what they will take away from it.
• Quality of the format. The format should suit the topic and make good use of two hours. Interactive formats are encouraged, but a well-run tutorial or talk series is equally welcome.
• Diversity of topics, formats, and voices. Across the program we aim for a range of subjects and perspectives; please keep this in mind when assembling speakers and contributors.

Submission format

Please submit a 2-page PDF (excluding references, if any) containing:

• Session title and format. State the intended format (tutorial, workshop, talks, panel, discussion, etc.) and give a one- or two-sentence summary.
• Motivation and scope. What is the session about, why is it timely, and who is the intended audience? What will participants take away?
• Tentative schedule. How the two hours are structured. Sessions run for 2 hours in a morning or afternoon slot; indicate any preference.
• Speakers and contributors. List anyone involved beyond the organizers, such as (tentative) invited speakers or panelists if available, with their affiliation and role. Please also provide a rough estimation of the number of attendees to the session.
• Organizers. Who is proposing and running the session, with a short bio for each and their role in the session. Please keep bios short. Please also provide a rough estimation of the number of attendees to the session.
• Requirements. Any logistical or technical needs (for example a projector, whiteboards, power for laptops, breakout space, particular seating), so we can match your session to a suitable room.

You can present a recently accepted paper (2026) at our poster session. We aim for top-quality papers in the field of ML (including but not restricted to: ICML, ICLR, AISTATS, JMLR). Come showcase your recent work in Paris!
